Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama II

The overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom Ya - Na Abubakari Mahama II has fixed the pegs straight on the kind of politics that should thrive in our modern political dispensation.

On the 19th November, 2023, the Vice President of the country (Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia) who doubles as the ticket holder of  the Elephant Party (The New Patriotic Party) embarked a "thank you" tour to the Northern Region of Ghana, Tamale.

On his visit, he paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty to showcase his commitment to the noble indigens of the Dagbon Kingdom and the country at large and vouch his natural prowess in leading Ghana into the promise destiny if voted into power coming December 4, 2023.

In a letter read by the spoke person on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Ya- Na Abubakari Mahama II had advised the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to burry all differences and treat his major contender of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as his own senior brother than being an enemy in the upcoming 2024 general election.

He said the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) must treat former President John Dramani Mahama like his brother.

Dr. Bawumia exchanging greetings with Ya - Na

“We as Northerners have to be grateful to all Ghanaians for the trust that only a Northerner can lead Ghana after 2024. It is a big opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities, competence, honesty, and dedication to moving Ghana forward.

"My son, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama who is also a son, is your fellow competitor in this election, he is not your enemy or rival.

"He is your elder brother and a former President of Ghana who is also being presented by the largest opposition party in our country to be re-elected as president.

"As northerners, we have already won the election with whoever we elect because whoever wins the trophy is coming home.”

The wisdom poured by Ya - Na has demonstrated how democracy means as a sovereign state. It's common in Ghana that politicians see themselves as enemies and use undemocratic and abusive languages in their campaigns for game and power.

This selective behavior in his view is highly unhygienic and must be ceased because diversity in its nature is woven in the fabric of creation and people should balance their difference to upsurge development in the society.
