✅VOTE FOR TEAM "ANAK": THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE✍️

A manifesto delivered by Akrobettoe 

Abraham Nartey and Akangurikye Rita as aspirants for the position of the SRC General Secretary for 2023-2024 academic year.

Mr. chairman, the principal, tutors present, SRC executives present, senior colleagues and colleagues present, ladies and gentlemen. I deem it a great privilege and honour to read this manifesto for the position of the general secretary for the Student’s Representative Council. 

Mr. Chairman, the position of the General Secretary is a vital position and plays a key role in administration. This role involves supporting and representing the student body during meetings and gatherings and as such it needs a skilled person to occupy that position.

 

I vehemently believe that with my experience and skills acquired as a Law Clerk at Nkrabea and Associates, Citizens Chambers, Manya Kpongunor, as the PTA General Secretary of Hoffnung Academy, Okwenya and from my service to Mount Mary College of Education at the hall level specifically Staebell as the interim hall secretary, I deemed fit to be elected as the General Secretary for the Student’s Representative Council. 

It’s my utmost priority to support and represent the student body during meetings and gatherings in other to make effective use of the office of the SRC general secretary. If elected, I together with my deputy will;

1. Ensure effective communication. Communication is the lifeblood of any thriving community. We will ensure that communication flows seamlessly between the student body and the SRC Executive Council. Your ideas, concerns, and feedback will be heard, considered, and addressed promptly.We shall do this by reaching out to the student boady once every month through electronic means. That is to say that we shall have surveys on critical issues, creating forms to collect data on issues pertinent to the interest of the student and the necessary response given with respect to time. 

2. Transparency and Accountability. Transparency will be at the core of my tenure. I will keep accurate records of meetings, decisions, and initiatives to ensure that you have a clear view of how your student council operates. Accountability will be upheld in all our actions.  

3. I will also ensure that there is unity, engagement and community building: Together, we are stronger. I will promote unity among our diverse student body, fostering an inclusive environment where every student feel valued and engaged. We will celebrate our differences and work together for our common goals. 

Mount Mary College of Education is not just a place of learning; it's a community and so I will initiate and support activities that strengthen our bonds, creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

PROJECTS TO BE EMBARKED ON;

The chair, as an individual, I’ve come to the realization that each and every one of us here is with at least a need and the same person, also has a skill which when directed to the right arena, he or she can make effective use of skills beard. Owing to this, I stand with two major projects to be embarked on which will help the student body collectively and individually, financially and professional or socially.  

My first project the chair, I will encourage students to go into article writing. In our modern day, the internet in with us everywhere and it is making a lot of earns for those who have knowledge of the economic value of it. As such, these articles are going to be reviewed by the editorial board and a blogging site will be created and these articles will be published there as well as other platforms which will make earns.

The monies gained from this, 60 to 70 percent of it will be given to the student and the rest of the money will be kept for running the affairs of the editorial board.Mr. chairman my second project is to bring legal enlightenment.

 I have in plan to establish a legal program which shall be known as ‘’ THE ANAK EFFECT’’. The aim of this program is to bring an awareness of legal issues as far as the student teacher community and professional life is concerned. In this, we shall have lawyers coming in from far and near to bring enlightenment. On several occasions, we the student teachers act or people act in ways which infringe on our rights as Ghanaians but for lack of knowledge of the law, we take no legal action to even regain our properties which may have been wrongfully taken away from us. This program will help us gain this knowledge.

 Mr. chairman, the principal, all protocols duly observed. This great vision and goals won’t be achieved without your support, prayers and vote. Therefore, I humbly plead with each and everyone of us to vote Akrobettoe Abraham Nartey as the general secretary for the SRC for the 2023-2024 academic year.
