MEET NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III: THE FORMER KING OF NORSU

 


NAA LEONARD NAAKUU SUNDAH III is the former substantive King of the Northern Students Union (NORSU) at Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya.

He was born on 4th April, 1994, barely three decades ago. NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III is a native of  Tongoh community in the Lawra Municipal Assembly of the Upper West Region Wa. 

After a successful womb escape from Mr. Naakuu and Mrs. Yelinor Naakuu, he took the initiative to be enrolled at Kunyukuo R/C Primary School from 2005-2006 and subsequently through Junior High Education in the same school.

NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III after recording a landslide victory in the 2013 Basic Certificate Examination Council (BECE), secured a placement slot to Lawra Senior High School  (The Great LAWSECANS), a maiden category A school and a giant in the Upper West Region.

Despite no position held by NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III in those days at LAWSEC, he led an exemplary life and served as a role model to the admirations of the lots. He is indeed humble, hardworking, smart, steward and above all kind to all. As student of the General Arts Department, he was loved by his teachers for his industrious calibre and mostly accolade by his colleagues as "Mr. Abavannah"

After completing his secondary education and obtaining the West African Senior Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the year 2016, he stayed home a year to put things in its desired footings before proceeding with his tertiary education.

Apparently, the year 2018 could be said as a year of abundant blessings ( My Redeemer Lives) in the life of NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III where he secured an admission offer to Study B.Ed in Social studies/R.M.E area of specialization at both Gbewaa College of Education, Pusiga and Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya.

NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III opted for Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya and got enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year. Recounting his life experiences in college days wasn't on a sliver platter, ranging from hardwork to pay school and examination fees, attending lectures, group assignments and presentations, studying on his own to write a course (Ghanaian Language and Culture: Cultural Studies-Dagaare), fulfilling obligations as required of a leader and many more.

Due to his decorum in character, NAA LEONARD NAAKUU III was among the few popular students and was the praise song by many student teachers. He won an election (S.R.C Executive)as the substantive Library Prefect, won an appointment slot as the King of the Northern Students Union, (NORSU) and became the general Secretary of the MOMACOE Traditional Council all from 2019 to 2022, a two - time dedicated astute servant.

As a library prefect, he maintained the uninterrupted daily routine ambience of the facility devoid of routine superficiality, lobbied for painting, refurbishment of windows, curtains, shelving, coordinating and many more fantastic jobs.

As a King of the Northern Students Union, (NORSU), he exemplified the spirit of team work and collaboration for progressive development, differentiation and scaffolding of duties, represented the community in Council meetings, ensuring the welfare and well-being his members, advocated T-shirts for the community and many more mind-blowing developments.

He is currently a Teaching Assistant (TA) at Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It's also worth mentioning that he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the "SAKIA360SERVICES"; the country most famous publishing company with plethora of services such as  website development (corporate & private) publishing, advertisement, IT assistance, freelancing, project write ups, digital marketing and many more.

Samuel Abunya - Deceased The unfortunate news gathered by "SAKIA360 SERVICES" suggest an alleged tribal disputes at Nkwanta Municipal in the Oti Region of Ghana. The alleged heated  tribal disputes took roots among the Adale, Challe and Akoyedes communities as challenged by the celebration of a traditional festival which usually  held at Nkwanta Junior High School A Park. The ransack which started in the late hours on Monday, 20th November, 2023 left many indigens in a sleepless night characterized by sporadic gun fires which got a gentleman suggesting to be Samuel Abunya, a former trainee at Jasikan College of Education who was doubled as the President of the "ACT Volta Sector (2014-2015 batch) sadly joined his maker including many others injured.
